Wizards Tarot is by Barbara Moore and illustrated by Mieke Janssens.

The Fool in this card is hesitating at the start of her journey. She and the dog peer down from the top of a cliff. A red feather plume and a white rose fall below her feet. She holds a splendidly spiraling staff with her bag tied on the end. Her hair and dress are windswept, Her dress appears tattered, though it was once a magnificent gown. Her bare feet are crossed in indecision. Rays of sunlight warm her and illuminate the path.

Footloose and fancy free. When you can set off in any direction, which direction do you choose? You are hesitating about the path that is before you. It feels like a leap off the cliff into the unknown. You are struggling with a decision, a course of action. Maybe make a Pro/Con list to help you decide. Ultimately, you must take a leap of faith and trust your Self and perhaps your Higher Power. You really can't turn back. The only way is forward.

This card is a good omen for new beginnings and the start of anything, be it plans or actions. Be confident in your choice and go for it!

Personally, I'm starting, or anticipating the start of many things. Perhaps I'm hesitating before the actual start of the calendar year on New Year's Day. The Full Moon is Friday night. The Winter Solstice or Yule is the 21st. I have lots of projects in the works. So do I do them all or concentrate on one or two? The red feather makes me think of a fancy quill. I actually have a red plume ink pen like that. I used to use it for book signings. I need to break it out again and write important things. The white rose could symbolize relationships of the past. Sometimes we need to cast those aside in order to forge new relationships.

On a more practical note, I feel a bit foolish with money lately. The Christmas season can give rise to lots of unnecessary spending. So the Fool card is a reminder to keep my foolish traits in check.

Embrace your carefree nature and take a blind leap!
