The World is Round

I love round decks because you can just ignore reversed or upside down cards... except when the art is strictly oriented face up like in Tarot of the Cloisters. In this case, I really don't see the point of making a round deck. Well, the stained glass quality of the art makes each card appear like a round stained glass window.

Nothing new in the symbology. The laurel wreath signifies the reward of coming full circle, of completing the journey and achieving one's goal.

So when the World card appears in a tarot reading it encourages you to look for what will complete you and make you whole. What will genuinely reward YOU, what will fulfill you heart and soul.
